Tata Motors has launched the Easy-Shift AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) version of ithe Tiago at Rs 5.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The automatic option will be available only on the top-spec XZA variant of the petrol hatch. The Tata Tiago AMT goes on sale from March 7 at the company’s more than 597 outlets across the country.
Currently, the petrol-powered Tiago XZ trim costs Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and for buying an AMT version, you need to spend Rs 40k more.
The Tiago AMT gets a ‘creep’ function for bumper-to-bumper traffic, which assists the car to crawl as soon as you lift your foot from the brake pedal, without pressing the accelerator. In an inclined position, this feature prevents the car from rolling back too.
The Tiago AMT is powered by the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Revotron engine designed indigenously by Tata Motors.
The Tiago AMT will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
