In what can be the most unique tribute to India and its progress, this team came up with a stunning light painting of the country’s most iconic structures including Taj Mahal, Red Fort and Bandra-Worli Sealink. For the uninitiated, light painting is a photographic technique wherein exposures are made with the help of a hand-held light source. Simply put, it’s a painting made with light. While this technique is quite popular, what makes this tribute all the more special is that a car is an integral part of this painting exercise. Now this is a first in India.

Without telling you more, here’s leaving you with the video that shows how you how this rather beautiful painting came to be made and the team behind it. Get ready to be mesmerised.

Škoda Octavia was always synonymous with brilliant performance, luxury and great looks. The new Škoda Octavia not only builds on these qualities, but also comes with a range of segment-first features, one of these being full LED headlights and taillights. So the brand came up with the idea of showcasing this feature in the most unique manner possible wherein the Octavia would be the tool used to create the light painting.

The execution of this idea saw the coming together of enthusiastic Octavia owners and light painting artist Jeswin Rebello at a workshop. They first practised light painting under Jeswin’s guidance and then went on to create those stunning paintings of structures that, in many ways, define India. You then saw how the Octavia cruised past all these structures leaving behind a trail of light in its wake. By creating an image of India you won’t forget in a long, long time, Škoda Octavia has paid a glowing tribute to the nation on its 71st Independence Day.
