Skoda is the latest entrant into the sub-10 lakh segment, with its Rapid sedan in the country. With prices starting from Rs 8.27 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), Skoda hopes to give brands like Volkswagen and Honda a run for their money.
The facelift variant of sedan will be available in petrol/diesel version, powered by 1.6 and 1.5-litre engine, respectively. You get to choose between 3/5 and 7-gear transmission, wherein the automatic variant is only available in diesel.
Skoda claims to have refreshed the Rapid with its crystalline design language, making the sedan closer to the way Octavia looks.
The front grille has been streamlined to fit the DRL headlamps, giving the car a wider stance. The tail lamps have also been redesigned to fall in line with the overall makeover of the Rapid 2016.
Skoda has also upgraded the interiors of the new Rapid, with two-tone finishing. You get a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with features like climate control, MirrorLink, rain-sensing vipers and dual airbags. You can store plenty of stuff in its 460-litre boot space.
