BMW was one of the top brands to stake its claim on the first day of the Auto Expo 2016 and we were not left disappointed. Sachin Tendulkar took the stage and launched the automaker’s 2016 range of the X1 SUV and the BMW 7 Series luxury sedan for the Indian market.

The BMW 7 Series and the BMW X1 have been locally produced at the BMW plant in Chennai, which means the new range will be made available as early as April 2016.

Talking about the features equipped with the BMW 7 Series, the company is offering gesture control support, BMW Touch command system and wireless charging. The new 7 Series comes in two design schemes – the M Sport and the Design Pure Excellence.

In terms of specs, the BMW 7 Series offers 8-speed automatic transmission, adaptive LED headlights and adaptive 2-axle air suspension that offers you the luxury that BMW is known for. And if that isn’t ‘luxury’ enough for you, then prices starting from Rs 1.1 crore (ex-showroom), going up to Rs 1.5 crore are guaranteed to convince you.

BMW has also launched the X1 SUV which will be available in the country, with prices starting from Rs 29.9 lacs. BMW ranks the X1 as a sporty premium aka sports activity vehicle (SAV). BMW X1 will come in three design variants – the Expedition, the xLine and the M Sport.
