Renault India has launched a new variant of the Duster, for all those looking for a petrol compact SUV. The Renault Duster RxS variant has been introduced with a CVT (constantly variable transmission) automatic box. The Renault Duster RxS X-Tronic CVT is priced at Rs 10.32 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
Two things that have changed with the Renault Duster petrol variant. It comes only as a 4x2 (two-wheel drive) variant. Earlier, the Duster came with a 1.6 litre petrol engine that put out 104 bhp of power. But now, it gets a 1.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 106 bhp of power and 142 Nm of torque. It has a claimed mileage of 14.99 kmpl with the CVT gearbox.
The CVT gearbox has six preset speeds as well, in case you wish to drive Duster like a manual variant. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is also available in the base model with a 5-speed manual transmission option.
This is the second automatic variant that Renault is offering in the Duster lineup. It offers a 6-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), on the top-of-the-line RxZ variant mated to a 110 bhp, 1.5-litre diesel engine, but only with two-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive diesel variant gets a six-speed manual transmission only.
