The Porsche Cayenne is the most popular of all Porsche models sold in India, primarily because it is an SUV – and therefore outselling the sportscars that the brand is known for. Catering to that audience, Porsche India has launched a "sportier" edition of the Porsche Cayenne – the Porsche Cayenne Coupe.
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe comes in two variants, the standard Porsche Cayenne Coupe priced at Rs 1.31 crore ex-showroom and the range-topping Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe priced at Rs 1.98 crore.
The refreshed Porsche Cayenne Coupe looks visually similar to the earlier Cayenne from the front, but it's actually an all-new SUV, with completely different bodywork. Of course, the highlight is the sloping roof at the rear, giving it coupe styling, kind of like the BMW X6.
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe comes with a 3-litre V6 turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 340 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. It has a claimed top speed of 243 kmph and can go from 0-100 kmph in six seconds.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe comes a larger V8 4-litre twin-turbocharged petrol motor that puts out 550 bhp of power and 770 Nm of torque. It can hit a top speed of 286 kmph and can get from 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds. Both models get all-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmissions.
LED lighting, a distinct rear spoiler and 20-inch alloy wheels. It has a fixed-glass panoramic roof. These models sell in addition to the standard Porsche Cayenne, which has a more upright rear design. The rear seat in the Coupe has been lowered to allow for more headroom, but boot space is down to just 598 litres due to the sloping roof compared to the 745 litres of space in the standard Cayenne.
The Coupe variants are pricier by up to Rs 12 lakh compared to the standard Cayenne. It competes with the BMW X6, Range Rover Sport and Lamborghini Urus.
