Porsche couldn't have used a better platform (or racing venue) than the Goodwood Festival of Speed to globally unveil its fastest ever 911 coupe, the 911 GT2 RS.
The car will make its presence felt with the upcoming version of the Forza Motorsport game title, but that's not what this road-ready sports car all about.
The 911 GT2 RS packs the same 3.6-litre engine that of the 911 Turbo S (paired with 7-speed double clutch transmission), but gets large turbochargers, which is capable of raking up more torque at 750Nm which is 50Nm more than what the 911 Turbo S could offer.
Porsche engineers have made the best of carbon fiber to ensure that at 1,470-kg, the 911 GT2 RS doesn't wear down at full throttle.
Speaking of which, the 911 GT2 RS can go from 0-100 Km/hr in 2.8 seconds, notching up a top speed of 340Km/hr. With the ongoing confusion around the GST in the Indian market, Porsche has decided to play the wait and watch game, before putting a price tag to the 911 GT2 RS, and rightly so.
The 911 GT2 RS packs a 20-inch (265/35 ZR) wheels on the front, and 21-inch (325/30 ZR) tyres at the back end.
