Move over TVS, Mahindra and Honda. There’s a new scooter kid in town, Piaggio’s Aprilia. This 150-cc two-wheeler will be available in the country soon for Rs 65,000 which puts it directly in competition with quite a few motorcycles.
But for what it’s worth, the Aprilia SR 150 in nothing like the Pulsar or an Activa. This scooter reminds us of the Kinetic Blaze, a 150-cc scooter that was seen blazing the roads few years back.
The Aprilia SR 150 will be manufactured by Piaggio in the country and even though it’s got a bike-style pricing, here’s what you get for the money.
It Makes a Mark
How many times we have talked about a scooter and its looks? But that’s exactly what the Aprilia forces us to do.
The scooter gets a 150-cc air-cooled four-stroke engine with a 7-litre fuel tank. The instrument cluster has the speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer.
You can feel safe with 14-inch wheels having disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
While there isn’t much to revere about the Blaze, but with Piaggio (they make the Vespa) you can least expect a high-performing, durable scooter that also is an eye-catcher. But for Rs 65,000 we expect nothing less, so should you.
