Refreshed Nissan Micra Launched in India at Rs 5.99 Lakh

New Nissan Micra 2017 variant launched in India. The car gets a facelift and some incremental updates.

Nissan has launched a facelifted variant of the 4th generation Nissan Micra in India at a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Apparently, the 5th generation Nissan Micra isn’t due in India for some time, that’s why the company has launched the 4th generation Micra with some incremental updates.

  • Engine: 1.2 litre petrol, three cylinder /1.5 litre diesel
  • Power: 75 bhp @ 6000 rpm (petrol) /62 bhp @ 4000 rpm
  • Torque: 104 Nm @ 4400 rpm(petrol) / 160 Nm @ 2,000 rpm
  • Transmission: 5-speed manual
  • Fuel economy: 19.34 km/litre (petrol) / 23.08 km/litre (diesel)

With the update, the new Micra now comes with features like auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers and ‘lead me to car’ feature. The new Micra comes with the same engine specifications as before in petrol and diesel. The petrol variant comes with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 75 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and pumping out 104 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm.

The diesel variant of the Micra sports a 1.5-litre dCi engine with 62 bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. Both the engine variants come with 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while the petrol engine can be equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The new Micra is capable of pushing out a mileage of 19.34 km per litre in the petrol variant and 23.08 km per litre in the diesel variant.

Other features of the car include a new sporty bumper, and new steering wheel while features like Bluetooth, steering audio controls, push button start and i-key continue.

Nissan also offers an Extended Warranty Programme, which is valid for three years or 50,000 kms (whichever comes earlier).
