Mercedes-Benz has announced that 2018 is going to be a fantastic year for car enthusiasts, as the company’s new line-up promises more exuberance and excitement. The German automobile maker has introduced three new cars for the Indian market – the Mercedes-Benz Maybach S 650, the all-terrain E-Class, and the electric Concept EQ.

Maybach S 650

The first car to be unveiled was the new Maybach S 650. A powerful car with a V 12 M 279 engine that puts out a whopping 630 bhp and 1,000 Nm torque, it comes packed with tonnes of features, including radar assisted driving.

This is the first car from Mercedes to comply with the BS-VI standard (BS-VI is still a far fetched idea in the country).

All-Terrain E-Class

The next car Mercedes Benz unveiled was the Mercedes-Benz E-Class all-terrain. The car has been given a very sport SUV look, and looks very intimidating. The most eye-catching feature is its two-fin front grille. The car comes with all-terrain mode as a standard feature. It sports 19-inch light-alloy wheels which again make the SUV look beastly.

The interiors are clad with an aluminium-carbon look exclusive to this car. It also sports stainless steel pedals and enough ground clearance to tackle precipitous terrain.

Concept EQ

The show stopper for Mercedes was its Concept electric vehicle, dubbed the Concept EQ. It sports a very futuristic design. The car is able to deliver a total range of 500 kilometres on a single charge.

The Mercedes Concept EQ gives us an insight on how electric cars are going to look in the future. The EQ comes with a very sporty SUV coupe design and is powered by a twin electric motor powertrain that is capable of delivering an output of 402bhp and 499 Nm torque, all thanks to a 300kW engine.

Daimler AG’s member of the board of management Britta Seeger said that the Concept EQ will hit the market in 2018 itself.
