The Compact SUV segment’s explosion started with the Renault Duster, which was taken forward by the Ford EcoSport, followed by the addition of Hyundai’s Creta. Maruti seems to be late to the party, but they are arriving nonetheless.
The company will be launching the compact SUV Vitara Brezza, which is expected to be priced around the Hyundai Creta.
The company is also bringing the Ignis, which by the looks of it seems to go against the Mahindra KUV100.

The KUV100 has generated a lot of interest because of the claim that the car (despite being a hatchback) can offer the comfort and off-road capabilities of an SUV.
The Ignis seems to have been designed on the same concept.
It will be interesting to see at what prices does Maruti Suzuki launches the Brezza and Ignis, as these cars are entering into segments that have been dominated by other companies – not a position that Maruti usually finds itself in.
