Maruti Suzuki India has announced that it will be hiking the prices of the entire range of models available in the country by up to Rs 20,000.
According to Maruti, the reason for this price hike are the rising input costs that the company has to face. The decision will be effective form January 1, 2016.
The decision comes after announcements by BMW and Mercedes about increasing prices by three and two percent, respectively.
Hyundai will also be hiking the prices of its cars by 3 percent and Toyota Kirloskar Motors will be raising the prices in India by up to Rs 30,000.
