The Land Rover Discovery is a seven-seater SUV that is quite large. It looks like the big brother of the Discovery Sport. It comes with a choice of two engines: The diesel models have a 3-litre V6 diesel engine that puts out 254 bhp of power and 600 Nm of torque. The petrol engine models have a 3-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine that puts out 335 bhp of power and 450 Nm of torque.

The Land Rover Discovery is a fairly large vehicle, with a length of 4,988 mm and a wheelbase of 2,922 mm. It features a spacious cabin, in the trademark stepped seating of the earlier Discovery.

The Discovery comes with all-wheel drive with the low-ratio gearbox in all the models, except the base trim, which only gets an all-wheel drive. The higher models have an option of Land Rover’s Terrain Response 2 system for different types of driving situations.

The Discovery gets a host of features, depending on the variant from a fixed panoramic glass roof to a full panoramic electric sunroof. It comes with an option of dual zone to four zone climate control, and 14-speaker infotainment system. Depending on the variant, buyers can opt for rear screens and electric seat folding mechanisms. Other feature options include lane assist, park assist and adaptive cruise control.

The Land Rover Discovery will compete with the likes of the Audi Q7, Volvo XC90 and Mercedes GLS. It is price positioned just below the Range Rover Sport.
