We Indians love a good discount, and it barely matters how good the deal actually is. But with the Bharat Stage III to Bharat Stage IV ruling coming into effect from 1 April (no, it’s not an April Fool’s joke), auto companies have gone on a discount spree to sell off their existing BS III stock.
With 6.71 lakh two-wheelers, out of over 8 lakh BS III vehicles impacted by the ban, dealers say the immediate effort is to sell as many units as possible before the deadline by offering “unheard of” discounts in the industry.
Companies like Hero MotoCorp, HMSI, Bajaj Auto and Suzuki Motorcycle, along with premium brands like Ducati and Triumph, are joining the discount bandwagon.
Sadly, car-makers aren’t offering any such deals, but if you’re in the market for a two-wheeler, then here’s what you can consider:
Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp is a popular two-wheeler brand in the country, and the good news for buyers is that the company is offering discounts of up to Rs 13,000 on its BS III range of bikes, scooter and motorcycles.
What’s the Discount?
- Hero Duet - Rs 49,480
- Maestro Edge - Rs 51,030
- Hero Glamour - Rs 59,755
- Hero Splendor - Rs 55,575
TVS Motor
The company has officially informed us about the discounts on its range of two-wheelers that are part of the BS III family. TVS is offering discounts of up to Rs 20,150, available only for Friday.
The list of discounted TVS two-wheelers include the Jupiter scooter, the TVS Victor motorcycle, and even the Apache.
Suzuki Motorcycles
Suzuki is getting rid of its Gixxer line-up, with discounts of up to Rs 5,000. This bike comes in two variants: Gixxer is the bare avatar, while the Gixxer SF comes with full-fairing. This bike is priced between Rs 77,000 to Rs 90,000. However, heading over to a nearest Suzuki store on Friday could get you bigger discounts than quoted here.

On top of that, you can also get free insurance done for any of these two-wheelers bought by the end of Friday.
Ducati
The big fish caught in the emissions net is Ducati. The company’s dealer outlets in the country are offering discounts of up to a whopping Rs 3.5 lakh. After all, the bikes on offer cost anywhere between Rs 7.8 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
