The 2016 Geneva Motor Show is currently underway and has already witnessed the launch of some of the most exciting, thrilling, luxurious and fast cars on the planet.

With companies pulling out all stops in order to catch the most number of eyeballs at the expo, Porsche had something special on offer for car lovers – the Porsche 911R.

The Porche 911R is a limited edition sports car that focuses on the driving experience instead of numbers. And if you thought that was exciting news, wait till you hear this.

All this excitement about the car is completely justified. The car is powered by a 4.0 litre, flat-six engine (just like the 911 GT3 RS) that churns out 500 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 460 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm.

What’s special though is that in the time of automatic DSG gearboxes, Porsche went ahead with a 6-speed manual transmission, something that auto purists absolutely love.

The 911R originates from the chassis of 911 GT3 RS and is a full 50 kilos lighter at 1,370 kilograms than the RS. Now this is really light, even for a Porshe.

The powerful flat-six engine and light weight, allow the car to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in a mere 3.8 seconds. It has a top speed of 323 km/h.

To give the driver a pure driving performance, the car is fitted with a retractable rear spoiler instead of a fixed one.
