Ford India has suspended the sales of their hatchback Figo and compact sedan Fido Aspire and is working towards issuing a recall of 40,000 units of these models soon.

The American automaker has taken this decision due to an issue with ‘restraint control module’ which can affect the functioning of airbags. Since both these models come with driver-side airbags as standard, all the cars sold come under the scanner.

Reportedly, the company is planning to work around the issue and might fix the problem through a software upgrade which might make its way to the affected cars in a week.
