Ford Launches the New Figo to Compete with Swift and Grand i10

Ford India launched its much-awaited B-Segment hatchback, the next generation Figo starting at Rs 4,29,900 ex-showroom, New Delhi. The diesel variant price starts at Rs 5,29,900 ex-showroom, New Delhi.

The hatchback will compete in the Indian market with the likes of Hyundai’s Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki’s Swift and Ritz.

There are three engine options on the new Ford Figo.

It comes with a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT that churns out 87 PS of power and 112 Nm torque. The 1.5-litre petrol engine gives an output of 110 PS power and 136 Nm torque.

The 1.5-litre petrol variant will get the option of a 6-speed automatic transmission similar to the one seen on the Figo Aspire by Ford.

The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre one that produces 100 PS of power and 136 Nm of peak torque.

The company claims a fuel efficiency of 25.83 km/l for the diesel engine of the car.

For safety, Ford provides driver airbags in the entry level variant of the car and dual airbags as standard in the mid range variants. The top trim gets 6 airbags which is a segment first in India.

The second generation Figo also gets some high-end features seen in sedans like the Ford MyKey system that can limit speed, MyFord Dock for smart devices and Sync with Ford AppLink to connect and control mobile devices.
