BMW is busy updating its models in India as buyers seem to be moving away from diesel powered cars. It has recently added two petrol variants to the 3-Series sedan range. The BMW 330i Sport Line has been launched at Rs 42.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the BMW 330i M Sport edition has been priced at Rs 44.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

BMW already sells the 320i petrol model in India, which will now be discontinued and replaced by the 330i. It also sells the 320d diesel model in four variants, besides the 3-Series GT (notchback).

The 330i comes with a 2-litre petrol engine that churns out 248 bhp of power, and 350 Nm of torque with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is a rear-wheel drive with four drive modes – Comfort, Ecopro, Sport and Sport Plus. There is no cosmetic change to the car as such, and looks quite similar to the 320i.

BMW has also introduced a new variant of the large 7-Series sedan, the M-Performance version called the 760Li. This mammoth car is powered by a 6.6 litre, 12-cylinder petrol engine pumping out 602 bhp of power and 800 Nm of torque. It can do a 0-100 kmph in about 3.7 seconds, which is pretty fast for a huge sedan. It comes with an all-wheel drive system as a standard. It’s priced at Rs 2.27 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

BMW has also launched a petrol variant of the BMW X1 with a 2-litre, turbocharged petrol motor putting out about 191 bhp of power, priced at Rs 35.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car looks identical to its diesel variant and is badged as the SDrive20i.
