Skoda’s premium sedan Superb has got itself a much-needed facelift, in both the exteriors and interiors. The outgoing model had begun to look dated compared to other offerings in the segment, though it’s main rival – the Honda Accord – has been out of production for a couple of years now.
The new Superb will be priced priced between Rs 22.68 lakh and Rs 29.36 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The third generation of the sedan comes with a new 1.8 litre TSI petrol and 2 litre TDI diesel engine, which produce 178 and 175 horsepower respectively.
The company also claims that the car has an increase efficiency of 6-7 percent in terms of mileage.
The launch comes at a time when Honda had displayed their upcoming model of the Accord at the 2016 Auto Expo and had garnered a lot of attention from visitors. Skoda had skipped the event with no displays set up at the Expo.
The premium sedan segment seems to be alive again and it will be interesting to see what Honda prices the Accord at.
