The Compact SUV is one of the fastest growing automobile segment in the country. As of now, the major players in this segment are the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and the Hyundai Creta.
The largest Indian automaker, surprisingly, didn’t have any to offer in this segment, until now. Maruti Suzuki India has launched the Vitara Brezza and has priced it competitively at Rs 6.99 lakh which goes up all the way to Rs 9.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Features:
- Engine: 1.3 litre four-cylinder DDiS diesel
- Transmission: 5-speed manual
- Power: 88.5 horsepower @ 4000 rpm
- Torque: 200 Nm @ 1750 rpm
- Ground Clearance: 198 mm
- Weight: 1170 kg (Kerb)
- Price: Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The car is powered by a 1.3 litre four-cylinder DDiS diesel engine, which churns out 88.5 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. This engine comes connected to a 5-speed manual transmission and the company claims a mileage of 24.3 km/l.
In terms of features, the Brezza comes loaded with technologies like auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, LED DRLs, projector headlamps, 16-inch alloys, roof rails and an infotainment system.
It also comes with an airbag for the driver and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) as a standard across all variants.
Maruti Suzuki has entered the party late with the Brezza, but given the way it looks and the price tag that it comes with, it might just go on to become, if not the best, then, at least, one of the best-selling compact SUVs in the market.
