Triumph Launches Tiger Explorer XCx for Rs 18.75 Lakh

Triumph India has launched the 2017 Tiger Explorer XCx, a 1.2 litre adventure-touring motorcycle that is loaded with equipment. The Triumph Tiger Explorer XCx is priced at Rs 18.75 lakh ex-showroom. It competes with the likes of the Ducati Multistrada and BMW R1200 GS.

The 2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer XCx packs in a little more power and torque than before, but most of the improvements are in the electronic riding aids that it comes with.

The Triumph Tiger Explorer XCx comes with a 1,215 cc, three-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It puts out 139PS of power at 9,300 rpm and 123 Nm of peak torque at 6,200 rpm. It features a shaft-drive system and electronic throttle, which is the norm among large capacity adventure motorcycles.

What's unique with the Explorer XCx is the switchable riding modes it comes with. It has modes for off-road use, mountainous terrain, on-road riding. With these modes, the braking and traction control get altered to the riding conditions. It also sports three riding modes – sports, normal and comfort.

The Explorer XCx features cornering-optimised ABS and traction control, that alters its behaviour if it detects that the rider is leaning into a corner. It also features cruise control for high-speed rides on highways.

Some of the other comfort features that the Tiger Explorer comes with includes heated handle bar grips, electrically adjustable front windscreen, USB and power sockets, fog lamps and and semi-active adaptive suspension system.

The Tiger Explorer is available in three colours – black, blue and white.
