Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused her of usurping the party’s identity, Bahujan Samajwadi Party Chief Mayawati on Monday retorted that the PM’s name stands for “Negative Dalit Man.”

Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district, Mayawati accused the PM of being anti-dalit. Earlier in the day, Modi had infamously said that BSP has turned into “Behenji Sampatti Party.”

The BSP chief also took a jibe at Modi’s personal life, saying that the PM had deserted his wife after marriage. Mayawati, however, claimed that said she herself had stayed away from family life and dedicated her time to the upliftment of India’s poor.

Further, Mayawati alleged that Modi’s noteban initiative was designed to paralyse BSP’s finances ahead of the crucial UP elections.
