JNU Vice Chancellor Jagadesh Kumar was at the centre of trolls on social media on Saturday over his tweet crediting BJP's victory in UP to "development" and "inclusivity".
Kumar, who was associated with Vijana Bharti, an RSS wing involved with Swadeshi Science Movement, before he took over as JNU VC, has often been accused of acting on directions of BJP, and for his affiliation with the Sangh.
"People of India have, once again, demonstrated overwhelmingly that we stand for development and inclusivity," he tweeted on Saturday referring to the UP Assembly election results.
Kumar also sent the same tweet to few journalists, drawing sharp reactions.
His Comment Draws Flak From Twitterati
The Twitterati soon started trolling him for the tweet, terming it to be "unbecoming" of a person holding a post.
"JNU VC cannot control his joy on BJP victory," said a tweet.
V Lenin Kumar, former president of JNU Students Union (JNUSU) couldn’t control his sarcasm.
"It is highly unbecoming of person holding the top post in a Central University to reveal his affiliation in this manner," another tweet said.
