India wrapped England’s tour by winning in all three formats of the game. After their 4-0 Test series win, the hosts beat the visitors 2-1 in both the ODI and T20 series. But who were India’s match-winners in the shorter formats?
Top scorer of the series, Kedar Jadhav scored scored 232 runs in the three 50-over matches at an average of 77.33, including a hundred and a fifty. This marked his best showing in an ODI series.
Indian cricket’s ‘old guard’, Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni stitched together a massive 256-run partnership to save the hosts tottering at 25 for three in the second ODI.
With batsmen scoring big, the Indian bowler had to step up too. Jasprit Bumrah picked 5 wickets in the three T20s and helped India to victory with his tight-death bowling. Man of the series in T20s, Yuzvendra Chahal sent the batsmen packing in quick succession in the last match in Bengaluru. The 26-year-old picked six wickets in the T20 series decided including two wickets in a single over.
