Cristiano Ronaldo said that he will come back stronger from his knee injury for the upcoming season. The Real Madrid star sustained the injury while playing for Portugal in the Euro 2016 final.
Ronaldo, who played a key part in leading his country to a maiden major title, limped off in tears in the first half of the final against hosts France earlier this month.
The 31-year-old has a sprained ligament in his left knee, and according to reports he is unlikely to return to action before Real’s third game of the La Liga season.
Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank all my fans. I wanted to tell them that all is well and that I will come back much stronger. Thank you, long live Portugal!Cristiano Ronaldo
After suffering the injury, the three-time Ballon D’Or winner continued playing in the final but in the 25th minute Ronaldo couldn’t play on and therefore was substituted.
Fortunately for Portugal, striker Eder found the back of the net in extra time and sealed the Euro 2016 for his country.
