Aspiring national level gymnast Brijesh Yadav broke his neck during a practise session in his hometown Agra on 10 October. The 17-year-old immediately went into a coma and was referred to Gurgaon’s Paras Hospital where a team of specialists successfully operated on him.
Brijesh’s family does not have the means to pay the medical bills. A group of good samaritans has come together to raise money for the athlete. But a lot more needs to be done. Brijesh will be kept on ventilator for the next ten days and the expenditure is set to mount. Post-operative care also needs to be taken into account.
A good kid, Brijesh needs all the help he can get. What can you do? Donate. You can reach out to Nauhar Shamshere Rana at +91 9910055970.
Nauhar, whose daughter trained with Brijesh, is helping in coordinating this effort. He says the Gymnastics Federation, especially Brijesh’s coach Hardeep Singh, has been supportive, and is currently raising funds in Agra.
