You would have thought of all the people on Hardik Pandya’s meet-and-greet list, Karan Johar would not be one – at least not for some time.
The Indian cricketer was the central figure of a storm that threatened to derail his career after his controversial comments on the Bollywood supremo’s TV chat show, Koffee With Karan.
But the duo seem to have made up – and how!
Pandya was seen shaking a leg with Johar at the grand Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta wedding on Saturday, 9 March.
Celebrities from all walks of life – from India and abroad – thronged to Mumbai’s Jio World Centre on Saturday for the long-awaited Ambani-Mehta wedding.
Needless to say, it was one grand party.
And Pandya, who is a key member of the Reliance-owned Mumbai Indians in the IPL, did not face any awkward moments upon what surely must have been his first meeting with Johar since the ill-fated KWK episode aired on 6 January.
The pair greeted each other with a warm embrace, before bursting into their moves on the dance floor.
Pandya, who missed out on India’s ongoing limited overs series against Australia due to back troubles, wasn’t the only cricketer at the gala event.
Sachin Tendulkar, Mahela Jayawardene, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh – all either presently or formerly with the Mumbai Indians – also graced the function, in addition to Indian Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane.
