Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have managed to grab social media’s attention yet again. The Indian cricket team, who are currently playing a five-match Test series against England, were hosted by the High Commission of India in London on Tuesday.
Hindi film actress and captain Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma also accompanied the squad for the function.
Yay or Nay?
The presence of the Bollywood actress in the picture divided opinions on the Internet. People criticised her for getting special treatment since she was allowed to attend the official event while families of cricketers have reportedly been asked by the BCCI to stay away till the third Test.
However, many commenters came to her defence by dismissing claims of any special treatment.

Twitterverse Has It’s Say
Since families of other cricketers have also been spotted in London, Twitter users asked why none of the other wives were present at the event.
Seen in the picture below are Shikhar Dhawan’s wife Aesha Dhawan along with Umesh Yadav, R Ashwin and Murali Vijay’s wives who are all also currently in London.
There were also tweets asking people not to interfere in the actress’ private life by creating such a stir over the photo.
Some people looked at the photo with a pinch of humour and poked fun at the players who have under-performed on the tour.
Indian team management had earlier informed the players that no wives and girlfriends will be allowed in the camp till the end of the third Test, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror. However, Anushka Sharma was also spotted in the stands during the series opener at Birmingham.
