Mohamed Salah scored a stunning goal to power his side to a 2-0 victory over Chelsea.
But the incredible goal got overshadowed by the way he celebrated after scoring it. Twitter went into a frenzy after Salah stood on his right leg with his eyes closed and hands together.
The Much Anticipated Explanation
Emma Stubbs, who has been practicing yoga for nine years and runs her own yoga business explained Salah’s celebration to British tabloid, Mirror that the 26-year-old was doing the “tree pose.”
"In the tree pose, you normally extend your hands over your head," she said adding that this was done to show honour to the people close to you, in this case Liverpool fans,” said Stubbs.
“If that's what he was going for then he hit the nail on the head in his celebration,” she said.
I’m a Yoga Man: Salah
Salah’s celebration therefore, explains the claim made by Stubbs. When asked about the celebration in a post-match interview to Sky Sports, Salah said that he is a “yoga man.”

‘A Response to Racist Fans?’ Twitter Asks
Nearly four days before the 14 April match, a video was doing rounds on social media showing a small group of football fans calling Salah a “bomber.” The racist video was seen as an apparent attack on Salah’s religion.
Hence, several Twitter users viewed his ‘yoga’ celebration as a response to racist comments hurled at him ahead of the Chelsea game.
One fan also pointed out that it was not a “professional” celebration from the Egyptian player.
