Indian Premier League, since its inception in 2008, has been a perfect blend of two of India’s most loved commodities – cricket and Bollywood.
Star players and actors were the ones who had initially forced people to become fanatics of league format of the game.
Many things have changed over the years, but this relationship which is evident on field has stayed intact.
One such incident took place after the Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, 5 May, as Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta and CSK skipper MS Dhoni had a little chat after the game.
The actress posted a photo of that moment on her Twitter account and said, “Captain cool has many fans including me, but off-late my loyalties are shifting to his little munchkin Ziva. Here I’m telling him to be careful – I may just kidnap her. Now it's time for you guys to Caption THIS photo...”
MS Dhoni’s 4-year-old daughter Ziva has been a mini celeb herself since a very young age, with over 75,000 followers on her Instagram account. She has also been a frequent visitor to CSK games this season, accompanying her mother to support MSD and co. from the stands. Videos of her cheering her father on during matches have also gone viral on social media. Most recently, Ziva in an adorable video urged everyone to vote ‘like mama and papa did’.
Kings XI Punjab finished the season on a winning note, beating Chennai Super Kings at home by six wickets. However their story of the season has been a complete contrast. While CSK qualified for the play-offs being second on the points table, Punjab were highly inconsistent and finished the season sixth on points table.
