Twitter was abuzz with congratulatory messages for the Men in Blue after a brilliant bowling performance by Deepak Chahar (6/7) helped India beat Bangladesh by 30 runs in the third T20I to win the three-match series 2-1 at Nagpur.

The 27-year-old Rajasthan seamer Chahar bagged 6 wickets for just 7 runs, including a hat-trick, from 3.2 overs to return with the best ever figures in the history of T20 internationals, surpassing the previous record held by Sri Lanka's Ajantha Mendis who scalped 6/8 against Zimbabwe in 2012.

Veteran Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “Exceptional bowling by Deepak Chahar! He bowled very smartly and used his variations well to pick up crucial wickets at crucial stages.
Special mention to Shivam Dube, Shreyas Iyer & KL Rahul to give Team India the series victory in the decider”.

BCCI President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly congratulated Chahar and captain Rohit Sharma for the win.

“Very impressed with the way Deepak Chahar has evolved as a T20I bowler. Always had the ability to pick up wickets with the new ball but has worked hard to bowl in the middle and end overs. Got a lot of variations up his sleeves & knows when to use them,” wrote VVS Laxman.

Harbhajan Singh wrote, “India all the way.. another T20 series win.. congratulations captain Rohit and whole team. Amazing spell by Deepak Chahar – 6 for 7 and hattrick ..outstanding knock Shreyas Iyer well done.. good show KL Rahul well done Team India”.

Indian cricketer RP Singh in a tweet wrote, “In the end, it looked like an easy victory for India but Bangladesh did scare us! Many positives from this India vs Bangladesh match. Shreyas Iyer most important. Rohit Sharma captaincy was spot on too. With an inexperienced attack, he handled his resources admirably”.

Senior journalist Ayaz Memon, former Indian cricketers Aakash Chopra and Sanjay Manjrekar, and cricket expert and commentator Harsha Bhogle also heaped praised on Chahar and Team India after their win at Nagpur.
