Sakshi Malik put India on the world map by winning a bronze medal in the women’s wrestling 58kg freestyle category on Thursday in Rio De Janerio, Brazil.
Hailing form Haryana, 23-year-old Malik made history by beating Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan.
Known for her strategy, Malik was trailing 5-0 in the first period before gaining eight straight points and India’s first victory at the Rio Olympics.
