It looks like the Mumbai Indians’ ‘Praying Aunty’ has a competition as far as cricket ‘fan girls’ are concerned.

On Tuesday, while Rishabh was busy smashing boundaries against Bangladesh at Edgbaston, Team India found a new fan in the form of an elderly lady. The passionate fan, identified as 87-year-old Charulata Patel, was seen cheering from the stand, blowing a trumpet with full zeal.

There was a huge cheer when the senior citizen was shown on screen as kept on blowing the trumpet enthusiastically. Later, she was surrounded by the Indian fans in the stand as she kept on cheering for the ‘Men in Blue’.

When asked whether India would win the World Cup, Ms Patel was quick to answer in affirmative.

Not only in the ground, Charulata Patel made a big buzz on Twitter with her on field antics. Here’s what Twitter had say about Team India’s newly found fan:

On Tuesday, the Men in Blue rode on a brilliant 104 from Rohit Sharma - his fourth century in this edition of the showpiece event - to post 314/9 in their 50 overs. Not to forget the brilliant comeback from Mustafizur Rahman as he finished with a fifer.

Earlier, with skipper Virat Kohli winning the toss and batting first on the same wicket that was used in the England-India game on Sunday, it was all about starting well for the Indian openers and the duo of Rohit and K.L. Rahul did just that as they took the attack to the Bangladesh bowlers from the word go.
