Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, offered to sponsor the World Cup tickets of the elderly fan who stole many hearts during India's match with Banglandesh in Birmingham on Tuesday, 2 July.

But the captain and his deputy were not the only on whose attention she caught. Mahindra who has a "tradition" of not watching any match, turned on the match just to get a glimpse of the special fan.

"As per my tradition, I wasn't watching the match. But I'm going to switch it on now just to see this lady...She looks like a match winner...." he wrote on Twitter.

"Also would like to thank all our fans for all the love & support & especially Charulata Patel ji. She's 87 and probably one of the most passionate & dedicated fans I've ever seen. Age is just a number, passion takes you leaps & bounds. With her blessings, on to the next one," the India skipper tweeted.
