Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was caught on the wrong foot when he was seen yawning on camera after the match resumed post rain stoppage during the Indian innings on Sunday, 16 June at Old Trafford.
As expected, rain intervened during the Indian innings. It was in the 47th over, with Kohli and Shankar at crease when the players had to go off the field for around an hour, courtesy a drizzle.
In the end, India finished with 336/5 after they were put into bat by Pakistan in the highly-anticipated ICC World Cup clash.
KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma put up an opening stand of 136 runs. In the process, Rohit smashed a 113-ball 140 while Rahul made a valuable 57. After the dismissal of both the openers, skipper Virat Kohli carried as he went on to score 77.
With millions watching around the world viewing the game, there was no way Sarfaraz’s blooper moment was going to go unnoticed!
Fans took to Twitter to crack a few jokes at the Pakistan skipper’s expense.
