Twitter Welcomes CoA’s Decision to Let Pandya & Rahul Play for Now

The CoA lifted the suspensions on Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Thursday, 24 January, lifted the suspensions on Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, “pending appointment and adjudication of the allegations by the BCCI Ombudsman”.

Both the cricketers had been banned pending inquiry by the BCCI for their controversial comments on the TV chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’. And with investigation reaching the Supreme Court due to infighting in the CoA, both cricketers’ playing careers had been put on hold.

The decision to lift their suspensions while the inquiry is on, was welcomed by the cricket fraternity and fans on Twitter.

Step in the right direction. Indefinite suspension, after they had missed out on the ODI series v Australia, was an overreaction and grossly unfair considering the nature of the transgression

Good to see there is some activity with Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. The forced indecision was helping nobody. There must still be a hearing and a verdict but like with Ben Stokes, pending that, they should be free to play. India 'A' would be a good restart.

The bans on KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya have been lifted by the two-member CoA on behalf of the BCCI, with the inquiry to continue once the Supreme Court appoints an ombudsman.
