In what turned out to be an hilarious incident during Pakistan’s ICC World Cup match against West Indies at Trent Bridge, a fan called out opener Fakhar Zaman from the stands and asked him to bring ‘Pakoras worth Rs 20.’
In Friday’s match, put into bat by West Indies, Pakistan surrendered to the short balls peppered at them by the West Indian pacers and collapsed for just 105 runs.
During the second innings when Fakhar Zaman was fielding near the boundary, a fan repeatedly kept calling his name and asked him to bring pakoras worth Rs 20.
Fakhar turned back and gave him a thumbs up, but it is improbable that he heard what the fan really had to say.
West Indies chased down the target inside fourteen overs to hand Pakistan a 7-wicket drubbing.
Pakistan have now lost 11 consecutive ODI’s and is scheduled to face England in their next game on 3 June who are labelled as strong favorites to win the World Cup.
However, they can take inspiration from their 1992 World Cup campaign which started on a similar note as they lost to West Indies and then went on to win the World Cup.
As of now, things look pretty bleak for Pakistan and they would like to regroup and come back stronger.
