England entered the 2019 World Cup final after defeating Australia by 8 wickets in the third semi-final on Thursday, 11 July. The hosts will now play New Zealand in the final at Lord’s on 14 July.

Very fittingly, England skipper Eoin Morgan hit the winning shot as the team’s sight was one of jubilation and happiness. The win was set up by Jason Roy (85) and Jonny Bairstow’s (34) 124-run partnership for the first wicket.

Meanwhile, Twitter was elated with the fact that the World Cup would see a new winner. This is what they had to say about the same.
