A record second game abandoned due to rain after two had already been affected at this ICC World Cup, and Twitter users were left wondering why rainy England was even hosting the quadrennial tournament in the first place.
The Sri Lankans have been the worst-affected team so far. After suffering a 10-wicket loss to New Zealand in their opening match, they beat Afghanistan in a rain-shortened game. Post that, the island nation was forced to split points with Pakistan and then Bangladesh, after both matches were abandoned due to rains.
After Bangladesh and Sri Lanka’s game at Bristol was called off on 11 June, lot of fans took to social media to express their disappointment.
