R Madhavan is a proud father as his 14-year-old son Vedaant clinched a silver medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay event for 'Group II' boys category at the Asian Age Group Swimming Championship.
Vedaant, along with Utkarsh Patil, Sahil Laskar and Shoan Ganguly, won a silver medal in the category while Thailand bagged the gold medal and Japan won the bronze after finishing third.
Madhavan on Thursday, 26 September, posted an appreciation post for the young swimmers, including his son. He wrote, “India gets her silver medal at the Asian Games. God's grace... Vedaant's first official medal representing India."
Actor Rohit Roy was the first one to comment and congratulate the young star. He wrote, "Incredible achievement! Congrats Vedaant and team India!".
Businessman and Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra also commented on the post. He said, “What a rockstar!!”
R Madhavan, best known for his roles in 3 Idiots, Rang De Basanti and the Tanu Weds Manu series, will next be seen in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which is based on the life of former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan.
