Pro Kabaddi: Patna Pirates Beat Bengal Warriors 47-44, Enter Final

Pardeep Narwal was the star performer of the day, picking up 23 raid points.

Patna Pirates sealed their place in the final of Pro Kabaddi Season 5 as they beat Bengal Warriors 47-44 on Thursday.

Pardeep Narwal was the star of the show once again and scored 23 raid points. Patna Pirates defence had a solid game at the back and scored 10 tackle points. For Bengal Warriors, Maninder Singh scored 17 points but didn’t get enough support from his defenders as they scored just six tackle points. Bengal Warriors scored more raid points than Patna but were let down by their defenders.

Patna Pirates will play Gujarat Fortunegiants in the final on October 28 in Chennai. It is Patna Pirates’ third consecutive final in Pro Kabaddi League.

Monu Goyat and Pardeep Narwal scored raid points as Patna Pirates led 3-1 after two minutes. Pardeep Narwal made a super raid in the third minute as Patna Pirates inflicted an all out to lead 9-1. Bengal Warriors scored a tackle point and sent Pardeep Narwal to the bench to trail 4-10 after seven minutes.

Patna Pirates defence had a strong first half as they led 15-7 after 13 minutes. Pardeep Narwal scored a raid point in the 18th minute to give Patna Pirates 19-9 lead. Bengal Warriors averted an all out on two occasions as they trailed 11-20 after 19 minutes. Patna Pirates went into the break leading 21-12 with Pardeep Narwal scoring eight raid points.

Shrikant Tewatia scored with a super raid at the start of the second half as Bengal Warriors trailed 15-22. Monu Goyat scored a two-point raid in the 24th minute to give Patna Pirates 24-16 lead. Patna Pirates inflicted an all out in the 25th minute to lead 28-17. Deepak Narwal scored a bonus point in the 29th minute as Bengal Warriors trailed 21-29.

With less than ten minutes left, Pardeep Narwal scored another raid point as Patna led 32-22. Patna Pirates inflicted another all out in the 35th minute to lead 40-26.

Maninder Singh achieved a super 10 in the 37th minute as they trailed 30-42. Pardeep Narwal scored his 20th point of the match in the 38th minute. Maninder Singh scored with a super raid in the 38th minute to trail 35-44. Deepak Narwal scored a two-point raid and Maninder followed with a raid in the 39th minute to trail 38-45. Bengal Warriors inflicted an all out as they trailed 41-46 in the 40th minute. Bengal Warriors made a spirited comeback in the last minute but it wasn’t enough as they lost 44-47.
