The 29 October edition of Monday Night Raw was promoted as the ‘go-home’ show for the upcoming Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.

This week’s Raw edition saw the return of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, but the highlight of the show was Seth Rollins’s Falls Count Anywhere brawl with Erick Rowan.

Former WWE Divas Champion (now Women’s Champion) Paige also returned to TV and was attacked by Asuka and Kairi Sane, the team she introduced to the WWE in April.

Here’s look at everything that happened on Monday Night Raw.

Becky Lynch defeats Kairi Sane

Our first spotlighted match saw Raw Women’s Champion face off against Women’s Tag Team Champion, Kairi Sane.

The match took place after Sane, along with tag partner Asuka, attacked former manager Paige. Before a beatdown could ensue, Becky Lynch made her way out with a huge pop for her scheduled match against Sane.

The crowd was extremely invested in the match as both wrestlers used excellent in-ring psychology to tell the story.

Sane’s technical moves weren’t as physically imposing as Becky’s brute style, but her crafty counters kept Becky on the back foot. Becky was responding with overwhelming offence, not allowing Sane to slip out and mount a comeback of her own.

The match ended with Sane hitting a spinning back fist for a near fall. As Sane went to finish the job, Lynch surprised her with a Dis-Arm-Her for the submission win.

Seth Rollins Defeats Erick Rowan in a Falls-Count-Anywhere Match

Ahead of his Falls Count Anywhere showdown with The Fiend at Crown Jewel, Seth Rollins had a warm-up match against Wyatt’s former disciple, Erick Rowan.

The fight spilled out to the arena floor almost as soon as it started. Rowan and Rollins made their way up the crowd while exchanging blows. Some of the most brutal shots came near the concessions stand, where Rollins attacked Rowan with a pole, to which Rowan responded by hitting Rollins with a uranage slam through a table.

The fight returned to the ringside area, where Rollins tried to recapture his momentum. They moved down the entrance ramp, where Rollins mounted a strong offence against Rowan.

Rowan kicked out at two after Rollins hit his patented Curb Stomp on the announcer table.

The fight eventually ended up backstage again, where Rollins used a forklift to pin Erick Rowan.

The lack of interference from Wyatt was puzzling, but all in all, this match was a good teaser to the brutality that can be expected on Thursday at Crown Jewel.
