After going unsold in this year’s Indian Premier League auction, Irfan Pathan posted a message for his fans on social media.
“Right now I have this obstacle in front of me but I will get through it with all the prayers and wishes coming to me,” said the all-rounder, who hasn’t played for India since 2012.
Pathan was expect to be picked this year, following his performance for Baroda in the domestic circuit and west zone in the Syed Mushtaq Trophy.
Listed in the Rs 50 lakh base price club, this was his best shot at making a comeback of sorts but no team picked him in the auction on Monday.
Following the ban on Chennai Super Kings, Pathan was picked up by Rising Pune Supergiants in the 2016 auction for his base price of Rs 1 crore. However the new franchise released him in the off-season after he featured in just four matches last season, picking not even one wicket and scoring just 11 runs.
