While it didn’t come as a big surprise to many when Test players like Cheteshwar Pujara and Usman Khawaja went unsold in the IPL auction for the 2019 season, it was shocking to see proven T20 performers like Brendon McCullum, Shaun Marsh and Dale Steyn go unsold.
Even Yuvraj Singh and Martin Guptill found no takers in the first round of the auction, but were bought by Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad, respectively, later in the evening.
Here are the big players who found no takers in the IPL auction 2019:
- Alex Hales
- Brendon McCullum
- Hashim Amla
- Angelo Mathews
- Corey Anderson
- Kane Richardson
- Luke Ronchi
However, if teams later show interest in them, these players will go under the hammer again late in the evening.
