India’s Pawan Negi went to the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a massive 1 crore rupees on Monday.

Coming into the auction at Rs 30 lakh, the all-rounder was the first Indian player to start a ‘bidding war’. It started with the Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions vying for the player before the Sunrisers Hyderabad entered the party at Rs 80 lakh. However, it was the Virat Kohli-led IPL franchise who eventually bagged the specialist left-arm spinner.

Negi is one of the few Indian all-rounders in the auction list this year which is probably why a number of teams wanted to get their hands on him. Last year, the Delhi player was one of the four million-dollar buys at the 2016 IPL auction and also the most expensive uncapped buy at the time.
