Indian School Team to Play World Finals and Watch a Bayern Match

The Cathedral and John Connon School are set to represent India in the World Finals at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

The Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai are set to represent India in the World Finals at the Allianz Arena in Munich. The Mumbai school was selected for the coveted tournament after they won the Adidas FC Bayern Youth Cup India in February, earlier this year.

The school team will also get a chance to watch a Bundesliga match at the Allianz Arena.

Over 200 schools participated in the seven-a-side football tournament. Eight schools from Mumbai, New Delhi (NCR) and Bengaluru qualified for the national finals, who took on each other on February 13 and 14.

Bayern Munich legend, Paul Breitner and Managing Director, Adidas Group India, Dave Thomas awarded the champions.

I have been associated with this tournament earlier as well, and this school kids remind me of my times. FC Bayern Youth Cup India 2016 is an opportunity as well as platform for these kids to show their talent and establish their career in football.
