If BCCI manages to make it through the next few days, there’s good news in store for the Indian Test cricketers. Salary hikes for the Test cricketers will be discussed, said BCCI chief Anurag Thakur in a special meeting of the board’s working committee, reported Times of India.

The chief said that salary of India’s Test cricketers, who currently receive Rs 7 lakhs per Test from the BCCI, is up for renewal. The cricket board is also expected to take a formal call on the payment of various pitch curators.
The cricket board is also expected to appoint a general manager for the centre of excellence in Bengaluru instead of the National Cricket Academy and take a formal call on the payment of the various pitch curators.
Quoting its sources, TOI reported that former selector Vikram Rathore, who proposed the idea of discussing the future ties of India-Pakistan cricket, is being suggested for the general manager post.
More tournaments for India’s women cricketers and an increase in the appointment of local managers for neutral Ranji Trophy venues are some of the other things the BCCI is considering.
The BCCI, especially its top-brass, is currently under fire for not implementing the Lodha panel recommendations and missing its 30 September deadline for the same. The Special General Meeting, called by the cricket board, was adjourned until Saturday.
