Parliamentarians Have A Ball Promoting U-17 FIFA World Cup 2017

The Parliament complex saw some football activity on 29 March as legislators celebrated FIFA’s decision to hold the Under-17 football world cup in Kolkata later this year.

Former footballer and Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member Prasun Banerjee presented a football to Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. “I decided to gift one to our beloved Speaker. A small memento from a former football captain," said Banerjee, a former Captain of the Indian football team.

Minister of State, Youth Affairs & Sports, Vijay Goel, distributed footballs to the MPs. Watch the parliamentarians in action here:

The Under-17 football world cup final is scheduled to be held at the Yuva Bharti Krirangan in Kolkata on 28 October.
