France beat Croatia 4-2 to win the football World Cup on Sunday, 15 July. Among the hordes of cheering fans at the Luzhniki stadium were Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, and his Croatian counterpart Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic. The two world leaders were spotted rooting for their teams, loudly cheering when they scored and heaving sighs of disappointment when they missed.
At the medal ceremony, both Macron and Grabar-Kitarovic were seen kissing the gold trophy before it got to France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. The French president hugged the Croatian players while the Croatian president hugged and congratulated the French team.
