The Indian women’s football team continued its dominance at the SAFF Women's Championship by lifting its fifth straight title with a 3-1 victory over hosts Nepal.
And the one goal that left everyone awestruck was Dalima Chhibber’s stunning freekick in the final on 22 March.
In the 26th minute, she smashed the ball past the keeper from a free-kick from 30 yards with a powerful drive, putting the defending champions into a 1-0 lead.
In the semi-final against Bangladesh, it was Chhibber who opened the scoring for India and this time around too, it was the right-back who gave India the advantage. For her fabulous run in the tournament, which saw India extend their unbeaten run to 23 games, the 21-year-old was named the Most Valuable Player.
